WORKING HUNTER CLASSES

11 classes with a course of jumps to suit every ability, together with individual show & championship

ENTRY FEES :

Ridden, In-Hand & Working hunter & equitation classes  - Pre-entry ( entries before 16th April )   

   9.00€ per class      or   3 classes for   22

Late Entries or On the Day Entries     

 

  13.00€  per class   or   3 classes for  35€

Ring 1
Ridden Classes

commences at 9.30am

1; TACK & TURNOUT - judged on complete turnout of horse, tack & rider

2; CHILDREN UNDER 16YRs - can be led, canter optional. Class maybe split if entries warrant it

3; GOLDEN OLDIES -  open to riders over 50 or combined age over 50years

4; BEST VETERAN - open to horses & ponies over 15years of age

5; NOVICE RIDER - open to beginner riders & those who have not competed in more than 3 shows

6; ALTERNATIVE COLOURED - open to dun, palomino, blagdon; spotted etc

7; RETRAINED RACEHORSE - open to all racehorses that have trained or raced

8; SPORTS / HUNTER - for all horses suitable for sporting events or hunting

9; FORIEGN BREEDS -  open to all breeds & part breds not native to UK or France

10; BEST RESCUE HORSE/PONY - for all that have been rescued or rehomed through an association

11; BEST OF BRITISH - open to all British breeds & part breds

12; BEST OF FRANCE -  open to all French breeds & part breds

LUNCH BREAK - Classes will not recommence before 2pm

13, COLOURED HORSE/PONY - Piebald & Skewbald only 

14, NOVICE HORSE / PONY - open to all that have not competed in more than 3 shows

15, BEST PONY - open to all ponies under 14'2hh / 148cm

16, FAMILY HORSE/PONY - open to all horses:ponies suitable for family share or ride & drive

17, BEST PLAITED - open to all horses & ponies with plaited manes, traditional, spanish, running etc

18, BEST FEATHERS - for all feathered breeds & part breds, Gypsy, Shire, etc

19, BEST HORSE - open to all horses exceeding 14'2hh / 148cm

20, NATURAL STATE - open to all unplaited horses or ponies

21, BEST COB -  all cob horses & ponies, presented traditional, native or show cob

22, BEST MARE- open to all mares, horse or pony

23, BEST GELDING / STALLION -  open to all male horse or pony ( stallion riders must be over 14yrs)

24, OPEN HORSE / PONY - class open to all horse and ponies ( class may be split if number permit)

CHAMPIONSHIP - 1st & 2nd place from each class

RING 2
IN-HAND CLASSES
commences at 9am

25. BEST TURNED OUT - judged on condition & presentation of horse and handler

26. YOUNGSTOCK -  1 - 3years, open to all breeds & partbreds

27. BEST HORSE - open to all horses exceeding 14'2hh / 148cm

28. NOVICE HORSE / PONY- not to have competed in mote than 3 shows

29. FOREIGN BREEDS - open to all breeds & part breds, not native to UK or France

30. BEST OF BRITISH- open to all British breeds & part breds

31, YOUNG HANDLER - open to all ages under 16years ( can be assisted) 

32. NOVICE HANDLER - open to all not to have competed in more than 3 shows

33. BEST FEATHERED - open to all feathered horses & ponies

34. COLOURED PIEBALD & SKEWBALD -  open to horses & ponies

35. BEST VETERAN - open to all horses & ponies over 15 years of age

36. BEST RESCUE - open to all that have been rescued or rehomed from an association

LUNCH BREAK - Classes recommence not before 2pm

37. BEST FIELD KEPT - open to all horses & ponies kept out 24/7

44. BEST PONY - open to all ponies under 14'2hh / 148cm

45. HORSE/PONY OF DRIVING TYPE -  Open to all suitable of driving type, can be shown in harness

46. BEST PLAITED - open to all plaited horses or ponies, traditional, spanish, running etc

47. BEST GELDING / STALLION -  open to all male horse or pony ( stallions handler over 14yr)

48. OPEN HORSE / PONY - open to all horses & ponies 

CHAMPIONSHIP - 1st & 2nd placed from each class

RING 3
WORKING HUNTER & 
EQUITATION

 

Commencing 10am

49; ASSISTED - open to everyone, can be lead or tutored. Jumps vary to ability

50; NOVICE RIDER - open to beginners, jumps can be altered to suit ability, Max 75cm

51; PONIES UNDER 148CM  - Jumps can be altered to size & ability, Max 75cm

52; NOVICE HORSE / PONY - not to have competed in more than 3 shows, jumps 60-85cm

53; WORKING COBS - open to all cobs, jumps 60cm - 85cm

54; PLAITED - open to all plaited horses/ponies, jumps 60cm -85cm

55; VETERAN - open to all 15 years & over, jumps 60cm - 85cm

56; HORSES OVER 148CM - open to all horses exceeding 148cm, 85cm - 100cm

57. UNPLAITED - open to all unplaited horses & ponies, jumps 50cm - 75cm

58. HUNTER / SPORTS -  open to all hunter/sports type, jumps 75cm - 100cm

59. OPEN - open to all, jumps 85cm - 100cm 

LUNCH BREAK & CLEAR ROUND - CLASSES NOT TO COMMENCE BEFORE 2PM

WORKING EQUITATION

60; ASSISTED - open to all, can be lead or tutored

61. IN-HAND - open to everyone

62; RIDDEN PONY - open to all ponies under 148cm

63; RIDDEN HORSE - open to all horses exceeding 148cm

64; RIDDEN OPEN - open to all, advanced course

65; PAIRS RELAY - 1st rider completes the course then 2nd rider completes course in reverse

CHAMPIONSHIP  1ST & 2ND PLACE FROM EACH CLASS

CLEAR

commencing at 9.30am

Jumps can be altered according to ability.

Rosette to each clear round

4€ per round or 3 for 10€

Open to all Champions & Reserve champions 
held after all classes in
Ring 1

CHAPS COLOURED CHAMPIONSHIP

We have the greatest pleasure of being supported by CHAPS the Coloured Horse & Pony Society.

The First & Second Places from the coloured classes will have their own CHAPS COLOURED CHAMPIONSHIP

to be held prior to the Supreme Championship

ONLINE SHOW ENTRIES

Online entries can be made below.

Simply click on the category you would like to enter, add your class numbers and horse name etc to the box and select 1 class or 3 classes in the payment option.

3 class entry fees, can be spread across the categories by entering the class details in the box. 

When all entries are made , go to the checkout to pay and select "collect in store" under the shipping so shipping is not charged

Terms & Conditions

We aim to make this show as much fun as we can, but we do have some rules

1) All entrant must hold a current FFE licence ( if you do not have one, we can point you in the right direction ) 

2) Riding hats must be worn at all times when mounted. Children should wear hard hats whilst competing in in-hand classes

3) Back protectors are advisable for all working hunter classes, for the jumping section. Children under 16 years are compulsory

4) Whips and canes must not exceed 30" / 75cm in the rings

5) Jackets are not compulsory, the weather may be too hot for jackets

6) Ridden horses must be over 4 years of age

7) Any stallions/ colts over 2 years, must be bitted

8) The judges decision is final

9) No cruelty to horses will be tolerated. If found, you will be asked to leave the showground

10) We reserve the right to split or amalgamate classes should the entry number warrant it ( if classes with no entries, we will move forward until break or championship

11) All persons attending the showground do so at their own risk. The organiser accepts no responsibility for any accident, loss or injury, however caused to animal, person or property.

12) We reserve the right to refuse entries or access to the showground

13) Classes may be swapped on the day. No refunds will be given unless supported by a vet or doctors certificate or by prior agreement

14) Show maybe postponed due to extreme weather conditions. Refunds will be given in the event of cancellation

NO DOGS ALLOWED ON THE SHOWGROUND
